Victoria Island hosted Africa's newest international contemporary art fair, ART X Lagos. New artworks, art-meets-fashion collaborations, live music, and art performances - including the expansive mural by artist Karo Akpokiere, painted live with audience participation. In line with its glamorous host city, the event bridged contemporary art and popular culture.

Tokini Peterside, founder of ART X Lagos, promised a unique platform to promote a new wave of young artists to the biggest collectors in Nigeria and West Africa. ART X Lagos delivered.

"Ehn"

Lagos is one of Africa's premiere fashion capitals, a fact not ignored by the fair's organizers. A highlight at ART X Lagos was a collaboration between ace photographer Lakin Ogunbawo and in-demand label Maki Oh on a series of images exploring the meaning of 'ehn'.

STYLE X Lagos

Fairgoers put on their own fashion display. On the scene were vintage denim and charismatic takes on traditional prints; high-top fades and cornrows. Style-conscious attendees harmonized with the artworks exhibited, a must when visiting an art fair on ultra-chic Victoria Island.
