London gallery Elisabetta Cipriani collaborates with renowned international sculptors and painters to create exclusive wearable sculptures made of precious materials.
The gallery's newest collaboration is with artist and designer Ifeanyi Oganwu on a jewelry collection that includes large earrings, a double ring, and a pair of cuff links made of 9kt rose gold. The gallery will present the collection at Design Miami/ art fair, during Miami art week.
Inspired by metropolitan skylines mirrored on bodies of water, the Cityscapes collection seeks to unify natural and man-made landscapes. The signature motif of aggregated clusters of folded shards explore the modernist notions of design in relation to the body.
Cityscapes works fluidly between the fields of architecture, and art and design - disciplines among which Oganwu himself fluctuates. Oganwu was born in Nigeria and studied architecture at institutions in Chicago, New York, and London. He then worked in the offices of renowned architects, including that of Zaha Hadid. He founded his own art and design practice, Expand Design, and with his studio has exhibited in Bilbao, Milan, and Paris, among other metropolises.
See Cityscapes at Design Miami/ from November 30-December 4.
